Building the Spartan Sisterhood: A Night to Remember
The gym was alive with energy, laughter, and teamwork on Monday night as our Rocori Girls Basketball program hosted our Youth Kickoff Night for players in grades 4–8.
It was a night dedicated entirely to our youngest Spartans. The future of Rocori Girls Basketball. And they showed up ready to learn, compete, and have fun.
Throughout the evening, players rotated through stations led by members of our high school program, working on ball-handling, shooting, defense, and teamwork. They hustled through drills, competed in games, and showed what it means to give your best effort with a smile.
In between the action, players had their photos taken in front of our Spartan media board. A small but powerful way to make every girl feel like part of something bigger. After all, that’s what our program is all about: belonging, pride, and connection.
The night wrapped up with cookies, Gatorade, and plenty of laughter as players celebrated the fun they’d just had together. The smiles said it all — this is what it means to be part of the Spartan Sisterhood.
“We wanted this night to be about our youth players,” said Coach Walters. “They’re the heart of our future. Seeing them connect with the game and with each other reminds us why we do what we do. The energy in the gym was incredible.”
The Rocori Girls Basketball program is built on values like hard work, teamwork, and community. And that spirit was on full display throughout the night. Events like this help strengthen the connection between our youth and high school programs, building a shared pride that stretches from the first dribble in 4th grade all the way to varsity competition.
A huge thank you goes out to all the players, families, and coaches who made the night possible. The future of Rocori Girls Basketball is bright, and together, we’ll continue to grow our Spartan Sisterhood one practice, one game, and one player at a time.
